Thank you to all of our supporters for another banner year for the Ithaca MobilePack!

Through a providential hiccup (people were trying to sign up for a packing space, but found no openings – so we opened up a new packing session Thursday night and increased the contract for meals), we ended up packing the maximum amount of food we could with only two trucks: 248,832 meals!

Brian Yeich, the Regional Development Advisor for Feed My Starving Children, tells us that the Ithaca MobilePack over its history has now packed enough meals to feed over 10,000 children for one year!

That has only been accomplished by willing and hard-working packers, generous benefactors, a great relationship with the National Guard and several other churches who have hosted MobilePack events, over these 14 years, and a very dedicated group of people on the Steering Committee – who serve throughout the year in various capacities to get ready for each MobilePack event.

Brian also mentions that we do not know the destination of this year’s packed food because of the longshoreman strike; and he asks for prayers that it come to a quick resolution so the food can be shipped.
